Honda Automobiles has always facinated me since my childhood. May be due to the very beginning reason of my maiden boat(ing) engine with the Honda brand name on it or it could even be due to the bike races where i saw most of the Honda bikes in the sports channels. What ever be it, Honda has always got a special place in me. Having attracted to Honda bikes, i just thought of sharing few of my opinion about the Honda bikes and here are few Hondas that got my attention...
Honda Unicorn - The master blaster of Honda 2 wheeler series in India. It has got an awesome performance with 150cc of engine capacity providing a mileage close to 50 Kms/litre. This bike gives the rider a comfort than anyother bikes of 150cc category in India. The balance riding of this bike is compared to that of Royal Enfield 350 cc. Indian women as pillion riders has always preferred this one, since it's designed to give comfort even when they sit on the single side. Besides the city riding the long distance rides are simply the best when it's experienced with it's 5 speed gears with 80+ Kms of speed. When serviced regularly, even a 5 yrs old Unicorn gives the performance of a new bike. The self start feature of this bike really helps when we are stuck in a heavy traffic. Nothing beats the mono-suspension of this bike which is best desgined for your spinal cord. Over all i would rate this bike as 9 out of 10.
Honda Shine - This bike has a engine capacity of 125cc and it has designed for a middle class Indian riders to provide them convenience at an affordable cost. Similar to the Unicorn, this also has a good pick up with the halt position from the 3rd gear. This is a maintenance free vehicle designed perfectly for the average Indian city roads. A regular engine oil change must keep the bike running in good condition for a longer period. This is again a 9 out of 10 in it's category.
Honda Stunner - This 125cc bike is sexy in look and it's designed for funky dudes. It gives a mileage of 55 Kms/litre. This unfortunately it doesn't stand rock solid to that of Unicorn or Shine. The chasis is not strong enough to withstand and the owners have complained that the indicators breaks even before the bike could reach 6 months of it's on road performance. Honda should be more focussed to on this bike to improve it's quality. The rating goes down for this bike with 6 out of 10.
Honda Twister - This bike also goes in hand with the pick up of other bikes in Honda family. This best suites a college kid, if he is thinking of buying anyother bike in the 100cc/110cc segment. It also gives the rider comfort as well as the road grip. All you need to be careful about this bike is when the tubeless tyre goes flat. It really costs more on your poket to fix it. I would rate this bike as 8 out of 10.
Honda Activa - This 100cc scooter is easy to ride for both the genders with the front and rear suspension. As any other Honda two wheeler, this weighs heavy on it's segment and this is definitely not for learners. The cabin under the seats serve well to hold things. Overall this suits better for the Indian roads with the rating of 8 out of 10.
